PIATT TOWNSHIP
GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING
December 21, 2015
Supervisor Dean Edwards called to order the General Business Meeting of the Piatt Township Board of Supervisors on Monday, December 21, 2015 in the township municipal building, 9687 North Rt. 220 Highway, Jersey Shore, PA. He led those in attendance in the pledge of allegiance to the flag and a moment of silence.
Present: Dean Edwards, T. Scott Moore, Dennis Rager, Shelly Davis
Visitors: David Hines, Brian Loffredo, Janet Loffredo, Todd VonNeeda, Marie Prince, Raymond Prince, Sandra Fidler, Robert Miller, Robert Aikey, Dave Newvine, David Williams, Steve & Shelley Helm, Chief Nathan DeRemer, Officer Crawford, Rob & Lisa Glunk, Karen Yeagle, Terry & Janet Miller, Jessie Manotti and Shane Newvine.
Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Department – Chief Nathan DeRemer outlined the types of services the citizens of Piatt Township could expect from contracting with the Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Department. The contract would run year to year. The cost to the Township would be $41,000 and the Township would receive 50% of the money generated by fines. All the residents and visitors in attendance had an opportunity to provide testimony, ask questions and expressed their opinion. Scott moved to contract police services for one year with the Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Commission, Denny seconded, Dean opposed, motion carried.
Larryville Schoolhouse Maintenance – The Supervisors discussed pertinent maintenance issues that will be required on the Larryville Schoolhouse this year. Estimated cost of work will be presented at a later meeting.
Appoint Bob Miller as Auditor – Dean moved to appoint Bob Miller as Auditor, Scott seconded, motion carried.
Scott moved to adjourn, Denny seconded, motion carried.
