GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING
May 2, 2017
Supervisor Dean Edwards called to order the General Business Meeting of the Piatt Township Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, in the township municipal building, 9687 North Rt. 220 Highway, Jersey Shore, PA. He led those in attendance in the pledge of allegiance to the flag and a moment of silence.

GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING
Citizens Comments – None.
Minutes – Dean moved to approve the April 4h General Business Meeting minutes, Dennis seconded, motion carried.
Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Department – Officer Crawford presented the April 2017 Piatt Township Police Activity Report. There were 79.40 patrol hours, 32 incidents (including 1 fatality), 64 speeding violations and 22 additional citations and charges
Act 537 – Nothing new to report.
Planning Commission – Nothing new to report
Roadmaster –
- Dean & Marco meet with Don Free regarding 2017 road work estimates for School House Road, Wagner Road, Zion View Drive, Martins Road East, Forge Hill Road, Campbell Lane West, Hesker Hill East and Nices Hollow Road.
Tax Collection – Nothing new to report.
Solicitor – Nothing new to report.
SEO & PUCC – Gerald Kilgus, our appointed PUCC Enforcement Agent, was in attendance to express appreciation for the position, address concerns and answer questions.
Zoning & Building Permits – 1 permit; Dennis Reed & Susan Shirley
EMC & Fire – Independent Hose Company provided a March Incident Report for the Supervisors to review.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Stormwater Management Ordinance – Nothing new to report, still working on it.
FEMA 2016 Disasters Assistance – Nothing new to report.
NEW BUSINESS
Correspondence File –
- The Supervisors were invited and encourage to attend a Joint Public Hearing for the DRAFT US 220/I-99 Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Plan scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, 2017, 6:00 PM at the Woodward Township Volunteer Fire Hall. It is extremely important that a majority quorum of our elected municipal officials ATTEND this public hearing to ensure that the plan will be adopted in compliance with the PA Municipalities Planning Code. The County is covering all costs associated with this public hearing. However, should our municipality not have a quorum of elected officials in attendance at this hearing, it will then be necessary for us to schedule a separate public hearing at your expense. Dean & Denny both plan on attending.
- Each Supervisor was provided the Cumulative Supplement #6 to the 2003 permanent edition of the 2nd Class Township Code. The Supervisors were instructed to discard Cumulative Supplement #5.
- Dean, Denny, Marco & Steven will be attending the 19th Annual West Branch COG Equipment Show & Training Day, May 17 at Lycoming County Fairgrounds.
Cell/Internet Service – Dr. Jill Wenrich , Jersey Shore School District Superintendent and Mr. Bruce Boncal, Director of Operations, were in attendance. They presented, and requested our assistance by resolution, a proposal of a “unified group working together to improve cell/internet service to all areas of the Jersey Shore School District for the safety, educational propose and economic development implications.
County Aid – Piatt Township is entitled to receive $1,976 of County Liquid Fuels Funding based on the municipal population/road mileage formula used in prior years. Dean moved to designate “Seal Coat Various Roads“ as this year’s project description, Scott seconded, motion carried.
Dean moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report, Scott seconded, motion carried.
Dean moved to approve payment of all bills, Dennis seconded, motion carried.
Dean moved to adjourn, Dennis seconded, motion carried.
